PocketPC 2000 / gx.dll problem?

As a test I installed my game (works fine on Axim X5, PPC2002) on my old iPaq 3650 with PPC 2000 upgrade & I get the 'application or one of its components' missing error which is usually connected with gx.dll not being present. I have gx.dll in /windows and the game's own folder. I copied over the oldest gx.dll I could find from 2000 assuming that whould be ok.

(the game has no other dependancies which could be missing. The only other dll needed is Hekkus & hss.dll is in the game's directory)

The Entrek toolbox demo (2 days to run) gives an error on loading GX.dll ?

deleted my gx.dll & installed agame which I knew worked to get it's gx.dll. Game seems to find this one

depends.exe from evc4 says my game uses:-
coredll.dll
imgdecmp.dll
aygshell.dll
hss.dll (hekkus)
should the first 3 be present in PPC2000? I don't see them in \windows

Yeah. I wasn't sure if it was still called aygshell back in the '00 days. Evidently it is. Oops.
