If anyone with an ARM Pocket PC is bored...

...can you give my quick sound/draw demo a try and see if it works okay or your pocket PC? It's using a double-buffered sound loop buffer of about 2x23ms which is okay on my Jornada 565 but might be too short for everyone else (e.g. iPAQs? Casios?).

it's at:

www.finalburn.com/tap.zip
(dammit, I'm going to kill ztnet. they don't allow links like that, you'll have to cut and paste to get the damn download... anyone got some nice free web-space which can take a lot of traffic going by the way?)

Put the tap.exe anywhere you like, but put sample.raw in the root directory (program loads up "\sample.raw")

By the way, which dir are programs run in? fopen("sample.raw","rb"); didn't work which was odd and nor did GetCurrentDirectory...

wow - thanks, that was quick! - did you get all the effects, e.g. when you press the stylus down?

also, any breakups of the sound e.g. when you use file manager?

it leaves a trail of dots, when i move the stylus, white on a grey background (i'm assuming it is supposed to that) and the music speeds up when the stylus is down

Excellent, thanks very much! Yes that's all fine. By the way what iPaq do you have, just so I can note it down as tested?

(By the way, is it true that the iPaqs don't have a slot for flash cards, you need a special sleeve for them? Has this been fixed or will we have to wait for the next HP/iPAQ?)

I have the 3630 (kinda an oldie i guess) I bought the compact flash expansion sleeve along with it, doesn't have any memory slot at all when naked. The newer ipaqs have an sd card slot

I've tried it on my iPaq 3870 and the sound accelerates when I keep the stylus pressed against the screen. But as soon as I drag it around the sound gets really choppy! I do get the dots as expected.

Cheers!
