coding on the CE device

Though I have a fairy small laptop which I can compile on I also want to be able to edit code
on a CE device ( instant on & longer battery ) due to the amount of rail travel I undertake. I have found CEdit which support VC projects but wondered if anyone used a better tool for on-device editing.
I'm in the process of buying a new H/PC as my old 360lx is damn slow.

You actually use a 360LX? Wow. How do you get more than 1 hour of battery life? I have a 360 and its predecessor 320LX.
You may have to create the editor yourself. has some syntactic coloring edit controls for editing source code (smart indenting, etc) that you could adapt to CE.

My 360lx still runs on the same rechargeables which came with it in 1998 or was it 1999. I used it constantly for 2 years & never had any issues with charge. My iPaq is great for looking after my diary but not much use to type anything on.
Currently I'm bidding on a new J710 so fingers crossed. Once the xscale situation settles down & an obvious market leader emerges I will buy one but for on the road coding you csn't beat an hpc.
The existing CEdit program is fine & does color highlighting + project file support so I will go with that even though it's $50. Money I have, time I don't
