Problem with Graphics....

Problem with Graphics....

Postby brendan » Jul 11, 2002 @ 3:19am

This is not so much a programming question, but a graphics Q. I have a photoshop doc, that has some graphics in it, over a purple background (RGB: 255,0,255), anyhow this is my trans color, the problem in that no matter what I do the above layers "blend" into this layer, causing objects to have "purple" halows around them. Short of editing the final when its a tga is there any other way to stop it from blending (anti-aliasing)....

As much as I know, if you want to remove the anti-aliasing, you have to remove the alpha channel and set the bg to purple. Hope this help.

To edit the alpha chanel, just go into the channel tab, right side of Layer tab and select the alpha one.

Thats the problem, this is none? changing the layer style (blending) from "Normal" to "Dissolve" seems to give a "better" look, but not perfect.....

Brendan, Your problem was probably when you copied the object, did you copy it with antialiasing? Photoshop nativly does this, and then it will always blend with the background. If your using the magic wand or another tool, you have to select it for no antialiasing and probably have a tolerance of 0 when doing this.

After it has been done, I havent jumped too deep into trying to fix it, but its probably possible to play with the alpha channels.

I think part of the problem is the overliad object has been re-sized.... and again PS has forced AA edges...
