but I wonder why is it asking for this file now? And I wonder if it is related to the crashing.

I don't know what to do expect rewrite the app from scratch since I have no idea why all of a sudden the InsertItem function is crashing.

I don't know why embedded is asking for this file... It always seem to apear randomly... And, if you do nothing... someday it will stop to ask you about this file... and later it will ask again. If anyone know why, It could be interesting to know.

But for your problem, I'm pretty sure there nothing linked with this file.

And for you other problem:

sounds[0] = "bmyname.wav";
sounds[1] = "byessir.wav";
----

how is it instanciated?
char sound[25]; //?? I hope not lol

but Be sure to check if the string is correct.

Regarding the DLL searching, you can go into the Project Settings, Debug tab, "Additional DLLs" category, and check the settings for various external files.
