Using VB.NET for Pocket PC programming

I'm starting a new project and I'm trying to decide which tools to use. I've looked at eVB, but I also know that Microsoft is planning to release the .NET Compact Framework around December. Does anyone know if I start programming using VB.NET now whether it will be fairly straightforward to move that over to the Compact Framework when it's released and deploy it on a Pocket PC? Thanks.
