X-Scale Clocking / Overclocking

Hi,

I was reading through the developers manual for the X-Scale and there are a lot of clock speed settings for it. (read it at ).

I was thinking there should be some potential for overclocking. The manual lists a set of valid clock/bus speeds, but doesn't say if these are the only clock speeds that will work, so it may be possible to run over the chip specification.

There is a valid setting for 332MHz main clock, 166MHz PXBus, 166MHz Mem/LCD and 83MHz SDRAM. The standard settings are 400MHz main clock, 100MHz PXBus, 100MHz Mem/LCD and 100MHz SDRAM. Would the decrease in CPU speed and slight decrease in SDRAM speed be a good trade off for faster buses do you think?

There's details for all the steps needed to change the clocks in the manual.

I've not got time to work on this myself (4th year comp sci degree takes up all my free time at the moment :( ), but thought i'd mention it incase someone is bored and looking for something to play about with!
