I was just wondering why no one has ported it to the ppc yet. Ive been thinking about doing this myself since no one else has, what would it invole though as far as rewriting it to support the ppc sound card and other hardware, is it very complicated? i do know C but not c++ and have worked with the q2 and q3 engine.

It requires intimate knowledge of the functionality of the ASM code within the program. All of which must be converted to C++, since ASM is specific to each processor. It is much more complicated than what was required to port something like Doom or Quake, due to the large amount of ASM code used. All of this aside from the general conversion to GAPI and other PPC specifics.
Last modification: Moose Master - 06/27/01 at 16:34:26

It's this cool classic 3D firstperson shoot-em-up game.
it was so cool. You got to shoot these german sheep and u could even skin em alive. then u could take their coats and sell em for more money to buy better, cooler, more powerful weapons.

Woolystien is a stain on a wooly rug...
but on the other hand:
Wolfenstein is a very dumb video game that cost 2 dollars when it was released and somehow became a hit.

It was technologically poor when it came out. Ultima Underworld came out long before Wolfenstein3D, and included Jumping, swimming, flying, lots of things that Wolf, even Doom didn't have. And the Apple had another 3D game long before even that that had mouselook features so you could see every direction. Wolf3D was not a good game, even technologically, even when it was released.

NEW!Last modification: Moose Master - 06/28/01 at 08:12:32
