EDGELIB 4.00 released adding Android support - now free!

Elements Interactive releases version 4.00 of multi-platform middleware solution EDGELIB SDK, adding platform support for Google Android, Maemo 5 and Antix Game Player.

EDGELIB SDK version 4.00 introduces support for devices running the Google Android operating system. EDGELIB-powered applications, created in C++, can now be re-compiled for Android using EDGELIB through Google's Android NDK and SDK. The other new platforms EDGELIB 4.00 introduces are Mac OS X, Maemo 5 and Antix Labs' Antix Game Player platform.

The latest release of EDGELIB also adds support for hardware cameras, OpenGL ES 2.0 and stencil buffers to the growing list of features. Also a few fixes and improvements, including input handling for iOS retina displays and a few changes regarding orientation, made it to the 4.00 release.

As of EDGELIB 4.00, the SDK is available in a Free Version and a Corporate Version. The Free Version, displaying a start-up screen in target builds, is completely free and can even be used in commercial projects.

EDGELIB supports the development of 2D and 3D mobile applications and games for Apple iOS, Google Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile and Linux/Windows/Mac desktop.
