If you buy the original game from id software (or at any bargain bin at a software store, or a Quake collection set) then it will come with the necessary PAK1.PAK file for playing the full game. You can play the software levels and shareware game and multiplayer in the shareware episode provided for download.

ok, thanks for the help. I havent ever seen it in a bargain bin, but i will look. Do you know how i would host a dedicated server for that new PQ Tourney thing? Or should i just host one for everyone, but call it something to do with PPC.

It depends on if you want other's to dominate you when you try to connect to it on your PocketPC or not. I really doubt many people will play PocketQuake online, as very few actually have it installed and regularly visit this forum to know what's happening. And if you use the PQTourney server then everyone has to have the PQTourney CLIENT on their PocketPCs, regular PPC Quake clients could not connect.

Forget about hosting a server unless you have AT LEAST 512kbit upstream. Ping and the server is magnitudes more important when dealing with NetQuake compared to QuakeWorld.

JJB: Out of all my years, your the first to refer to PQ's single player as a campaign. I'm assuming you mean a campaign of crap as far as single player goes :P

I gave up my old name because it was immature and I didn't like it. It also symbolizes that I'm trying to change my life for the better... and it just so happens that yesterday was Ash Wednesday and on Ash Wednesday you're supposed to give up something bad in your life to make room for good, so it just worked out that dropping my old screenname fulfilled that holiday requirement as well ;)
