Help getting IR keyboard to work with Pocket Quake

Hi, bought a IR keyboard for my PDA and I am currently using it to play Duke3d.

However when I edit Pocket Quakes config to my keyboard keys it doesnt work.

The ingame options menu shows my new key choices e.g forward = W

But it just sticks to my hardware buttons on my PDA.

How do I solve this?
