DM Museum

I designed the map with sparse items because I like the franticness of running out of ammo and not finding another decent weapon. The omicron bot supports persistent weapons so I figured anyone who wanted more weapons could go that route.

I get a huge amount of satisfaction when capping a bot with the shotgun, while he's launching rockets at me. Makes me feel accomplished I guess.

I think the megahealth 999 is speaking of was one of the last items I placed in the map- originally it was ammo of some sort. It sounds like an issue to me- so is it worth changing?

I don't ever camp, so I am not tuned into preventing that kind of gameplay. So this is good that other play styles can help make my maps better.

I'd like feedback on item placement from ANYBODY who has played the map. If it seems like more items should be added, then I'll issue a new map called dmmuseumXP for those players.

Other than that, how is the speed/flow?

Oh my! A Pocket Quake Map Pack. This reminds me of the 5-Cubes contest*. Too bad that was for UT. Thankfully remaking any map shouldn't take too long. The real problem would be retexturing for the Quake engine.

* A contest held by a site hosted on PlanetUnreal in which entries could only contain 5 cubes (added, subtracted, etc.) no more no less. Decorations were forbidden and places for hiding, ducking, and or covering needed to be included.

There won't be any "remaking" of maps that I know of. We already have 4 PocketQuake optimised maps which is a pretty good start.

Anyway, I was planning on issuing a dmmuseumXP from the start of the project- It was supposed to feature an expanded map, more items, and possibly SinglePlayer/Coopertive modes.

I have already started a new map, and am wondering whether I should halt it in favor of eXPanding dmmuseum.

Hmm, you've sparked something Randall.

Let's make two variations of play for each map. Standard, and EX, for lest say, "EXplosive"-mode or something, hehe.

999a is currently an EXplosive map, I'll start toying with ideas to change up the gameplay with item changes.

yes somebody should definitily make some single player maps!!! btw wouldn't that require me to fix my pak0.pak file since i overwrote the progs.dat file. but anyways yes make a coop level it'd be some much more fun. I never really play DM on unreal cause i'm always playing domination or Capture the flag. Dm is just to non productive :)
