Hello! Just a few of my thoughts on comparing Nyditot's Landscape and JS Landscape 2.0, as I have purchased both.

I bought JSLandscape first, as it was the first one that I had seen. read the review of Nyditots Landscape, and was intrigued by the virtual displays and higher resolution.

3 things became quite clear immediately after installing Nyditot.

thing #1: any resolution above 480x360 compressed is USELESS

thing #2: JSLandscape2.0 is much easier to read at the Hires setting (480x360 compressed) than Nyditots. as a matter of fact, Nyditots wasn't useable at any compressed resolution, even with bolding turned on for text.

thing #3: The virtual display capabilities of Nyditot's were pretty neat, but not as useful as I had hoped. The scroll cursor was pretty intuitive, but it wasn't enough to make the feature worthwhile (to me)

In the end, I reinstalled JSLandscape and have been very happy with it.

Just my 2c.

Alan

perhaps im an idiot but while i can get pq to switch to landscape on my new iPAQ (PQ was the deciding factor between the iPAQ and a palm505), i, er, can't figure out how to hit "enter" to make it stay in landscape. Can't seem to edit the cfg on the iPAQ either, assume that change is made on pc and transferred?

penman

To get out of the menu, you "ESC" out of it. For some reason PocketQuake still says to hit "Enter".

It is possible to edit the CFG file on your device, as long as the CFG file is associated with a text editor.

PocketPCs lame File Explorer doesn't give you the opportunity to associate files, but there are a couple third party File Explorers that will.

cool, thanks. will try that. yeah, day two with the iPAQ, PQ was the first install :) very fun. The file explorer is lame though, and what's with not having "Quit" for applications? weird. anyway thanks.

penman
