Compaq doesnt suck as bad

Compaq doesnt suck as bad

Postby AlphaFox » May 21, 2001 @ 8:42pm

Well, I got my new unit in the mail today. I had to talk to a manager, and after demanding my money back they agreed to give me a new unit. so whats the fist thing I try? PQ! I had brought my CF reader to work and when it came in I tried to run it, but gx.dll was missing... so I found someone with a PC CF card reader and had them put that dll on there. but I forgot how lame the pocket explorer is and I couldnt copy it! I had to wait to get home.
anyways, I do a time refresh at the starting point without moving and IT STILL CRAHSED!! ?!?! I dont know WHY it does this for me, but if I move a little bit it doesnt crash. I even overclocked it to 236 and played it for like 15 mintues no problem. I dont think its my hardware anymore, maybe something weird in PQ?? dunno.. it works good now and Im loving PQ again!!
so in the long run compaq didnt suck as bad, but they still think their customers are dumb. the tech said 'well its 3rd party and we dont stupport that. contact the manufacturer it must be software.' so I told them 'if MS word has a problem running on your computer are you going to call MS and tell them that they need to fix word??!' no.. oh well, I feel better now and I can ever overclock! ya!! no dust either!

Compaq still sucks ass. I've told my Compaq story over and over (yeah, I own two Compaq Presario laptops).

Here's a new one.

They told me for the last 3 years that my laptop maxes out at 96 megs of RAM. Not only that, but to add a 64 meg module was $220.

Guess what? I bought a 128 meg module for $39 and put it in my Presario- it recognises all of it and works fine. I had another 64 megs laying around and put that in as well.

So now I have 192 megs of RAM in a laptop that Compaq STILL ARGUES only supports 96 megs. Apparently I am wrong and they are right.

Whatever.

I had a compaq armada 1580DMT.. costed $275US to get a 48mb upgrade for the ram.. that's bullshit.

Oh, and the screen decided to break every few months.... It's not mine anymore, so, whatever.

I tested for some time two different Compaq laptops. I got problems with the screen on BOTH. (!). And they denied the warranty for one... Argh..... ...At least it wasnt MY laptop... :)
