Lusting for bots...

As you may or may not know from some of my previous threads, I have had much difficulty getting bots to work on my iPaq, and to this day still can't get bots to work. I went to Pauls site and downloaded the pak's with omicron bots but to my dismay found out that these where just the pak files with the omi fils included and not an actual set up pak, autoexec ect... that are ready to run bots. Seeing as how I don't wanna keep making SP maps and want to do DM maps I am asking, nay, BEGGING for someone to help me out by making me a pak or autoexec or whatever I need to get bots working already set up for me, seeing as how I can't seem to be competent enuff to do it myself. I know we've prolly asked this a million times, but, do you have a registerd version of Quake?<br><br>You *can't* play against bots unless you have a registered Quake PAK file.<br><br>Paul merely distributes pak files ready for bot matches granted you have a PAK1.pak file in your id1 directory OR, have the POP.imp file inside a gfx subdir of your id1 root.<br><br>If you've got a registered Quake, post another message curtailing the problems you're having upon loading up PQ. <br><br>

I don't think there is a standard to getting mods to work. We just kind of try this and that, and post the result on this forum.<br><br>Especially since the iPaq is able to use the -game startup command, which is by far the best way. Casio still has to overwrite the progs.dat .<br><br>There is a simple (and clean) way to get mods to run on Casio.

Yes I have the registered version of Quake, but what do i have to do on my ipaq to use the -game command? I didnt even know i could do that.

okay i'm not understanding how its so complicated, if you download the pak0.pak file. then all u have to do is take the autoexec.cfg from omincron or whichever bot and run it. it will work. i don't know if your doing something wrong or your dumb or what. but it WILL WORK.
