Background Art for the 720 version

Background Art for the 720 version

Postby R0B » Jul 10, 2001 @ 4:35pm

Hi, I was wondering if any of you artists would like a place in the 720 version. As of now I am in need of two backgrounds.
1. for the 240 x 160 pixel version
2. for the 320 x 240 pixel version
These background pics sould go around the centered game screen, or still look cool when the game screen is placed over top of part of them.
Please send all pictures to RProie@www.com. Feel free to post any ideas on this tread, and I will tell you what I think of them.
Last modification: Rob - 07/10/01 at 13:35:30

Rob:

Can you post a template, or image of where the "live" area is on a 720 screen?

I've got a secondary PQ skin which I havent finished, and would like to carry it over to the 720 version depending on how much work needs to be done.

Another point of interest, is how large can the filesize be? Does it's size in any way have a direct affect on PQ?

Aside from the offer, I reckon these are a few other key notes us designers might need to know ;)
I will make a design template up in a little bit, but untill then, here is some more information.

1. the 720's display resolution is 640 x 240.

2. When in resolution 0 (240 x 180), you will have 2 blocks of 200 x 240 on either side of the display and two other blocks of of 240 x 30 above and below the display.

3. When in resolution 1 (320 x 240), you will have 2 blocks of 160 x 240 on either side of the display.

Note: I know most of you already know this, but just to make sure you understand since I don't have a template ready, all numbers are in pixels and in form Y x Z, y is width and z is height.
Isn't it usually represented as X by Y. Horizontal and vertical?
