'Gaming Button' on Ipaq

'Gaming Button' on Ipaq

Postby AlphaFox » Aug 20, 2001 @ 1:34pm

Hey, look at this page i Found at pocketpc.com. it says that the ipaq has a 'Large Gaming Button.' hahahaah!! Why doesnt it work for games then? I think they shoud either remove the reference to the button as a gaming device or fix it so that it works with games. Id prefer the latter. =)
http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/pocketpc/bguide/ipaqh3600.asp

Did you notice the picture being displayed on that iPaq? Bill Gates must have gotten rid of his dog. Either that or he bought a bigger dog house, because his current one is up for sale.

Dan East

It supports left, right, up, down; and also acts as a button if you push it in. For diagonals are treated as two different directions, not one of their own, on the iPaq.

well pushed down isn't a direction or it is a 3d direction something. so it should be 4 or 8.

Actually, the diagonals act like the action button. Try it in Quake, and if you try to chord while moving you'll fire the pistol instead. I think it has to do with the way that the iPAQ measures voltages to allow the action button and directional at the same time. Pressing two directionals sends the voltage above a high enough threshold to trigger the action response.
