ipaq quake 1 woes

I have an ipaq 3870. Copied all the files in their proper places. When I run the .exe the game starts. I can see all the controls on the bottom half of the screen. However, the game screen portion stays completely white. I press all button, hit all screen buttons, nothing. Wierd thing is, I close the app, and the menu screen appears briefly (new game, load game etc) before the program exits. Any suggstions?

Do you see a credits screen at start up that you have to X out of? Do you hear demo noises? Do you have the PAK0.PAK file gzipped, maybe gzipped AND on a storage card? gzipped files load MUCH slower than ungzipped files, but ungzipped it will be twice the size.

Make sure you downloaded the version for iPaq model 38xx hardware. The other StrongARM version will not work on your hardware.
