Dan, have you given up on PQ? I mean, You're busy and all, but you haven't even really updated PQ2 in a long time (5+ months? I dunno...).

I would like to know whether Dan is still working on this or if he just moved on. I would also like to know if the x86 emulator for Pocket PCs (the one that emulates like a 386 or something) will be released.

I am not saying this, of course, to badger Dan or beg him. I would just like to know if he is still working on this. I am still ever-thankful to Dan for everything.

well, if I may, I would like to badger and beg Dan to continue his work on PocketQuake I and II and his other various projects.

Without meaning to put further pressure on Dan, I think everyone would greatly appreciate some new PQ1 builds with further engine optimisation!

PQ1 is one of the best demonstrations of PPC's power to date, but it could do better. We can't let it slide away...

I'd rather have wolf working on my e200. PQ is a very nice game, but only enjoyable on my 720, and personly, I think it runs very nicely (no slow downs that I can detict) so I am content with it's current form.

Oh, I see. So that's how you're optimizing PQ for XScale. You can forget about my question in the other thread about PQ running slow on XScale.

That's not the problem with XScale devices, I'm absolutely sure of it! It's the "ATI Imageon 2D's" implementation of a built-in back buffer. All non-GAPI or multimedia applications run noticeably faster, even twice as fast like it should. But games and multimedia that display directly to the screen, like PocketQuake and PocketTV, are not running like they should. It's the opposite problem of the iPaq H38xx, I believe. If I could learn how to program I could probably fix it myself, but I've never had the time to really get into it. Everyone with an XScale device should try the older PPC StrongARM iPaq H36xx executable and see if that runs. It's not built for PPC2k2 so there will probably be many problems, but if it does run and it runs faster than we know that this is the problem. Also try PocketTV's older iPaq H36xx exe, and DivX's, and any other game or multimedia app that you think isn't running up to par.

I think that you are right. It was like that for the iPAQ 3800, too, you know.

Still, I would also like to know the answer to esw's question. I have EVC4 installed, if anyone wants anything... Not enough room for EV3 at the same time, though.
