I just thought a suggestion thread might be useful to you... but maybe not...<br>Some suggestions I have are: some way to re-input the latest console command used; gamma adjustment; detail adjustment and sound detail adjustment. That's all for now ;-), Thanks for making such a cool game!

I started a Casio BE-300 Pocket Manager thread in the Hardware Forum.  Someone posted that Quake is not avalible for the BE-300.  So my suggestion is for someone to make a port for it.  With a 166MHz MIPS processor and a 32k color screen, Quake should run and look good on it.

Uhh,
166Mhz = Not very playable
32K screen = useless

reason being that quake is 256 colors, so, yeah..

Uhm, excuse me, but the MIPS processor at 150MHz is faster than the 206MHz StrongARM processor, especially when it's programmed for properly. But it's just harder to do so and the StrongARM is Intel, so eh, huh?

Yeah, but PQ has not been optimized in asm for the mips, so it is slower. And it would take a lot of time to change that.

wondering

Postby colganc » Feb 7, 2002 @ 3:43am

ive always wondered if the fpu could be used as a secondary processor...to process integers or what not. is it used like this? in a x86 system doesnt the fpu have a flag/register saying when its free...and an irq to alert that it is..so couldnt this be used to process some things?

ummm... I don't exactly know what you're asking, but Pocket PCs don't have fpus (of course) built in or seperate, and older x86 processors had a seperate fpu (i.e. the 386 cpu had a 387 floating point coprocessor), until the 486 when it was included on the cpu. So, if you are looking for info on floating-point programming, I suggest you look for some information from the 1980s. BTW, Windows 95 can run on a 386 (I don't know why I brought that up...).

And now we are officially off-topic. Or maybe that's just me...
