Make sure you benchmark before and after so you'll know if there's a speed increase.

I'm not too great with electric currents:
In overclocking the casio, you use graphite to create a path with a resistance between two pts.
Can a switch be installed to effectively turn ON/OFF O/C? Will an installed switch provide the resistance to trick the casio
or would a resistor need to be sodered inline to O/C?
My casio O/C'ed @ 200 freezes when syncing large files across. I want to freely switch between 180 and 200 as needed.
Is the switch theory possible or do I need a resistor with it?

It would have to be solder on for any type of permanense, and there can not be a switch easily devised. The tabs are less than 1 mm off the PCB board.

Oh ya, I'm gonna use wires and have the switch accessable to the outside of the case. (I haven't looked where to put it, but then again I haven't found my mini switch yet :) )

But all and all, what you're saying is that a switch alone is possible, even without a resistor.

Have you seen how miniscule the internals of a PPC are? I wouldn't touch a soldering iron to anything in there.

There's a thin white wire that is attached only by a clip, it doesn't plug in. That would be the backlight power cable, or something like that. Make sure that it is in properly and the contacts are facing the correct direction. If that doesn't work, then you're screwed.

Opening the case voids the warranty, no matter how long it is for.

I hate to tell you, but you can only use the CompUSA replacement warranty once, and after that you have to buy another one (like $59.99) if you still want coverage. I found out the hard way (after the fact) - the salesperson *never* volunteered that information. I think all CompUSA replacement warrantys (even non-PDA) work like that. It must be illegal.
