_windowed_mouse ifdef _WIN32 ?

Yeah, I mostly play SNES and Nintendo games on my PPC. Nothing "made for PPC" has worthwhile gameplay, with the exception of PocketQuake of course (And Doom, Hexen, Heretic... whatever).

A good strategy game would be cool. like im sure a spruced up version of Civ, with the right screen size could come out of one of those big companies, and they could be the corporate heroes of ppc, and get rich. but no such luck.

nah, big companies (EA, Square, Eidos, Lucasarts) make big games (Madden, FF series, Tomb Raider, Monkey Island serires) for big platforms (PS2, Dreamcast, N64, Gamecube, PC). little companies (Jimmy, Zio, Amazing Games?, <sigh> PDAUtilites, <big-sigh> Developer one, <huge-sigh> ohters....) make games little games (Turjah, Metalion, Chopper Alley?, BigCrap, TotalShit) for little platforms. and until a little company (???) makes a big game (???) for the little platforms (PPC), it will always suck.

........don't even mention it, Gameboy is an exception in physical size, not market-share wise.

Hey Jaybot, funny but the companies you've listed as "big" are all hanging on by a thread right now. Each has had major layoffs, and one or two of the aforementioned are projected to be "extinct" by the year's end.

Well then, they definitely wont be making a game for the PPC then! :)

I never like Eidos or EA much, but Lucasarts and Square going down? Breaks my heart. :(

Well, I guess it's my turn to start up a major gaming company. I'm off to go dow that now! :)

Lucas Arts is being sued by 3DO for copyright infingement... Like 3DO has ever done anything original... Pffft..

Square is healthy, mainly from it's Japanese lifeline.

Eidos is biting Laura Crofts shiny silver bullet right now. They stiffed us on an E3 party last year, which a good sign they're fubared. Plus, Daikatana and blowing 4 million into Gamefan magazine didn't help them either. Sux, aside from their crap games, they did have awesome E3 parties. I got wasted and spilled red wine all over my suit in atlanta, and had a blast in the front row of an everclear performance at their last E3 party in LA some years back.

Oh well, I hope your company's parties rock :)

Lucasarts, compyright infringement?! Maybe, but I very highlly doubt it. Talk about the most innovative company (subject matter wise), why would they even need to steal anybody's stuff, when they've got enough original stuff of their own to make a franchise off anything...?

And I don't think EA is going anywhere either, even if there Sports games finally died off and left the company bankrupt, they still have a Limited Liability Corporation in conjunction with Squaresoft (Square EA) which translates and ports etc. all of squares better games for them, too bad.

Yes, 3D0 is suing LucasArts...
Please check this Jaybot.

There's a big difference between basing a company's stability on Nostalgia, and the daily BS otherwise known as life. Take a look at Sega for example, and you're still confident about EA? Hehe ;)

Oh no, I don't care about EA, one way or the other, the only thing theyre good at is sports games (which I have never really particularly cared for, sorry) and I would simply laugh if they failed. I was just saying that as long as Squaresoft stays alive, EA will have something to fall back on.. for awhile.

Yeah, sega is a sad story. Not really, their consoles always sucked, I never liked my genesis or my master system, I only had them for a couple of games that weren't available on the NES, GB, or SNES. Sega has always had a great software team however, and I'm glad they'll at least be able to continue doing that.

OMG, I just checked out the link (cool site by the way), This is almost as ridiculous as that one crappy toy company who tried to sue nintendo for releasing Excitebike 64, saying that they copyrighted a toy or something in 1991 (i dont remeber the exact date, but you'll get my drift) called Exciting Bikes or some bullshit like that. When everyone in the entire gaming industry knew that Excitebike 64 was just another rehash of an OLD nintendo (now) franchise for the N64, when the original Excitebike for the NES was released in 1984! And like Nintendo doesn't cover their ass on their own copyrights, yeah right, it's on the damn Title screen to the game! That was stupid.

Lucasarts Starwars Starfighter (which is an incredible game, btw) vs. 3do's Star Fighter (which was a horrible game, btw) is just as stupid. And now I have lost any (not that I had much... well their original Battletanx (1 and 2) commercial was hilarious, the one with snuggles the bear, lol) respect for 3do that I might have had.

EA is also the company that laid off over 200 employees when they acquired mpog.com

They did a number on Origin... Remember UO2? I bet the 85 staffers working on it do after EA gave them their marching orders...

Industry Quote:
"I'd rather have broken glass up my ass than work for EA"
