I use 3D view ALOT. It is absoultely necessary for vertex editing and general selection of brushes, especially if the map is fairly complex. It also allows me to see texture alignment and placement, as well as a general idea of how the map looks. It also helps me notice if I forgot to draw a wall- something you can't always see in a 2d view.

I don't see a 3D view as a "disposable" feature at all.

The viewports would have to be switchable in order to maximize drawing space.

The map editors do commonly use OpenGL or DirectX to render the 3D views. So it would be a chore to implement that on PPC.

who knows, i think it's bs at the moment because its rumor... and i dont want it to be true, i have way too many old wince 2.11 apps that will only work on mips
and hopefully they will keep w/in the form factor of the E-125 or EM500, or their will be a lot of unhappy EB and Vaja empty case owners...... and if it's going to be arm, it better atleast be 400Mhz or I'm not buying it, and making one for my damn self
