Once again, we are only dabbling in alternatives. No real change is going to come about until- 1: we run out of fuel, 2: somebody steps up to the plate and does something about it now. Not in 300 years.<br><br>The hybrids are okay, but they are EXPENSIVE. Who is going to buy that when they can buy a Viper, Beamer or Hummer?<br><br>Since Bush is all into BIG business, I suggest he give the auto manufacturers a HUGE tax break for dropping the hybrids prices down to $10,000.<br><br>I loved 999's take on the Shell commercials.

actually the new honda hyrbid is oonly 22,000 thats about the price of a mid size sedan and it does go about 62 mpg or more. You can't really complain about that, maybe its not fully electric but it is a step in the right direction.

There's a fuel that burns just like petroleum, but is MUCH cheaper. I don't remember what it's called, but it's made from corn, so that's an unlimited supply. But Bush has rejected all alternative fuels, because he what's "big business". It is true that bush will distroy America. Do you really think bombing Iraq during his first week, was "normal proceger"? And now this Missle Defense System. He wants a war (he has to, to become his father), but going to war with Russia or China is SOOOOO stupid!! That's World War III the Nuclear Holocaust. If he wants a war, go with one we can beat, like Bangledesh, or Etheopia. Bush is just too dumb.

Actually, it's kind of funny that the US is so involved with Europe and the Middle East that we tend to leave South America alone. Any time the media talks about South America, it is usually related to drug wars.<br><br>Other than that, South America seems to do okay without too much intervention from us. Yeah, Brazil may have it's problems, but what country doesn't?<br><br>I'm interested to see how Vicente Fox does with Mexico- there is alot of opportunity for change in Central America.

I think that Bush wants to install a nuke defense system because he doesn't want China to be able to use its very limited nuclear power to control the United States or any other country (ahem... Taiwan...). Of course, China could just swim a nuke into Taiwan, but what China really wants to stop is a counter-attack from the US.<br><br>President Bush, I am sure, is not deluded enough to think that a defense system will stop Russia's tens of thousands of nuclear weapons. He just wants to keep China from using its limited long-range nuclear weapons as a political threat. I agree with Bush.<br><br>If China can use its nukes to stop a nuclear-attack from the US, then China can invade Taiwan or any other small country. I believe that this is a possibility. You have seen the rising hostility of Chinese hackers and hacker-wannabes. <br><br>If we allow the Chinese government to boss around little countries, then the United States of America will deline as a world power. This is a bad thing for the rest of the world. The Americans fought with the "good guys" in both World War One and Two. We saved many Hmong people who may have been killed by the Viet-Kong after Vietnam. We often try to save people from ethnic cleansing in places like Kosovo.
