It should help if you optimise your config.  Try Moose's config from this thread if you are running the same or similar device: .  Also, run in default (lowest resolution) video mode for better fps (vid_mode "0" ).<br>As Dan East has pointed out, the Quake engine is remarkably configurable.  A lot can be done to minimize rendering tasks (& improve fps) right from the console.<br>A good console command list is here: .

if u get  Optimized levels  instead of the Single Player its quite playable. Also, your annoying, i don't like you.

hey i just thought of this, couldn't you edit your pak0.pak to change the e1m1 and so on levels to be user levels? Does it know if e1m1 is real? that way you could play without registering.

Yup. As a matter of fact, I think 999 (remember THAT guy?) used to name his files like that, start with Start.BSP .
