miles per hour? pff, why do you Americans insist on that mile thing while the whole planet uses kilometers and meters?

I think we spent the money that would have been used for converting the U.S. to the metric system on being first to land on the Moon. Which means of course that the official system of measure on the Moon is also miles, yards, feet and inches.

Lol, just a question,
is there any relation between inches, feets, yards and miles? Like, in metric system 1 km = 1000 mts and 1 mt = 1000 mm and so on.. What about the US system?

12 inches=1 foot, so inches/feet is sort of a base 12 system.
3 feet=1 yard, so that's kind of base 3.
5,280 feet=1 mile , so...
1 mile=1,760 yards.

More importantly, one football field (American) is 100 yards long. So the American system is perfectly unitary and consistent ;)

And temperature. Freezing (0) to boiling (100) makes more sense as terminals for the scale, but why use a scale with half as much resolution?
71 degrees Fahrenheit is 21.6 degrees Celsius;
72 degrees Fahrenheit is 22.2 degrees Celsius;
73 degrees Fahrenheit is 22.7 degrees Celsius;
74 degrees Fahrenheit is 23.3 degrees Celsius, etc.
I think we should all use Kelvin, then room temperature would be a nice 300 degrees.
