need more speed increase

Postby kyingguo » Jun 2, 2002 @ 3:04pm

Hi there!! The name's Kevin. I'm only 14 years old and i'm already a hardcore gamer (on PC and on my pocket pc...LOL) I'm a proud owner of a iPAQ 3630. I have a 128mb (4x) storage card and i loaded it with pq. I'm quite impress with the frame rate at first, but when I started playing, it was a bit jerky, especially when it was busy rendering explosions. I saw a few other posts about frame rate imporvements. Anymore ways to improve the frame rate? Anyway, how many fps when pq is running on an iPAQ? (overall, with default settings)

Sorry if I haven't been keeping up to speed, but just how many more obvious optimisations can be made to the PQ code? Would I be right in saying a lot of it still uses floating point arithmetic in 'popular' parts of the code?

BTW, I'm 19. I thought I was young, but you babies [no offence intended unless you find it amusing] make me feel way old! But hey, I started making Wolf3D maps when I was 11... and wouldn't be here if it wasn't for that!

Die, Palm, Die. If that offended you, then get rid of your Palm OS device.
