The e750, or is it 570? Whichever has the xScale, uses the crappy ATI 2D chip, which actually slows the video performance down. Don't get any next-gen PPC with the ATI chip in yet because no software is optimised for it and they released the thing too quickly so it's all slow.

It also has the same display bug as some existing iPAQs, so it's a very bad measure of performance. I just got my LOOX from Expansys (FI) (out of stock again now) and Q2's default settings gave me around 6FPS, which is just below (by a few FPS, so that's more than just =]) my optimised CFG ver of PQuake1.

I should get about 8FPS if I optimise, this compares with 3.5/4FPS under a StrongArm 206Mhz. You should note that I've had trouble getting PQ2 to run under xScale CPUs, it sometimes starts fine and others blurts out a weird runtime style error.

I'd love to see a version of PQ/PQ2 take advantage of an ARM5 compiler =). I'm off to Cyprus for a couple of weeks now, although I'll get some benchy's done for you when I'm back since I haven't run those yet.

The thing I did was a stress test of realtime play in a large area.

Okay, that's the THIRD TIME in the same forum you've posted that. That is NOT a PocketPC and laptops are cheaper than that. What, do you work for them or something? Quit with the shameful plugs!

Please let this be the only thread that chriva resurrects.

7.2FPS on my Casio, 9.3FPS on an iPaq.
There is no way you got 19.3FPS.

I'm very trusting, but there's no way you have the original quake with no optimizations running at 19.3fps. Unless you're talking about your 300MHz laptop with messed up graphics... THEN I trust you.
