who's up for a quake tourny?

We should have two or three people as spectator "cameramen" if we're going to do it that way, set up in spots where they can get really good footage, plus a couple of static cameras. Then release the demo and let people flip through them.

Dan: Having a seperate spectator server IS possible, the only program I know of is for Q2/Q3. It's called QuakeTV, not to be confused with the SmashTV mod. As for Quake1, I don't know. Learn KeyGrip, and make a cool match recam is what I would suggest.

-sponge

Ok, looks like there won't be a 384mb flash card as a prize, but I'll keep looking around and see if I can find some equally cool prizes..

That´s ok Chris. Prizes are not important, fun is important.

Diego's right. There's no way I'd be able to win since I'm on mono, but I'd still love to play. I haven't had a decent deathmatch in a couple months and this sounded like a blast. Don't give up hope!

Yeah, try if it ain't too much trouble to make it possible for PC Quake users to spectate the tournament. That would be really cool.

Well, you've already been linked by PocketPCThoughts and another site (PDAGeek, maybe) that I wandered across this morning.

If so, I didn't see it. Our proxy here at work had a fit when I tried to catch PocketGamer this morning, so I went somewhere else. I think it was there earlier this week though.

PlanetQuake. That's it. Knew it was something like that. PlanetQuake mentioned the tournament in their Q1 section. Made it sound a little obscene, too, something like "Pocket Pounding" or something like that. Not very flattering. But hey, it's coverage.
