First, dont call him carp, being a latin student i think everyone alive knows what CARPE DIEM means, and it should not be confused with a fish, just add that "e". It's just offensive to think that people dont know anything about what you spend 1/7 of your day, everyday doing.<br><br>Second, That looks cool. For the compatability thing, is that the same idea you were talking about for PQ a while back? How much memory would that take? I dont want to use a MONSTER! How much will it cost (please say nothing), but id be gald to pay almost anything for a GOOD RTS game.

the only thing I'm worried about is whether the game will be more like starcraft or C&C... I personally prefer C&C's engine, unit manipulation and production, and general overall feel... but aside from that, I like starcraft too ... I haven't really played starcraft all that much .

Starcraft is more of an Action based RTS, C&C is more about building up and defending your base, waiting for just the right moment type of thing.

Carpe diem,<br><br>What kind of graphics will the game have? Isometeric or top-view? Will the units be rendered or pixel artwork? If you do isometric make sure that whatever graphics is beeing made has the correct angle and NO PERSPECTIVE (if rendered). Also, take it easy with anti-aliasing.<br><br>Anyways, regarding the theme of the game: Please make the game gfx to be either high-tech (starcraft) or a little bit realistic (C&C). It would be cool with Mech's and stuff. <br><br>You should probably ask for people with design skill. i know what you mean Fredrik, if i remove the background of the game it looks terrible so nice graphics is one of the top priorities.<br>It's isometric and the units are prerendered in a 3d program called Lightwave. I have a few units ready but the biggest problem is how to make maps, since they are just bitmaps at the moment. <br>So i can't release an engine demo until i have a map of my own.<br>The engine is now considerably complete, last night i finished making the units attack the enemy, and now i was finishing the artificial intelligence of air units, im very pleased with what i achieved in terms of AI so far, now it's the turn to deal with ground units AI (avoiding terrain obstacles and not just other units).<br><br><br>C ya Fred and thanks for your advice.

Glad to see another topic opened up...<br><br>will this be Real Time Strategy or a Tactical game?<br><br>the difference? StarCraft and C&C are Strategy games whereas games like Myth are more like Tactical games. The difference i guess is the amount of time fighting compared to the amount of time building. <br><br>Of course....most RTSs can also provide you with a  capability to run a RTT game...
