I want a Pocket PC with the same form factor they currently have, maybe half as thick, with an additional OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) display that will unroll out of the side of the unit, at least quadrupling the display size.

Dan East

Last modification: Dan East - 05/27/01 at 17:21:26

I fully second, third, fourth whatever the Duke3D idea. It could definately be done since D3d was made before quake. I loooooved that game! IMHO still one of the best 3d shooters.

Oh and as for Simcity on pocket pc, i believe ziosoft are working on one, due out end of this year

I E-Mailed 3d Realms the other day about the source to Duke 3d and unfortunately this was the answer:
----------------------------------
Hello Stefan,

At this time we are not planning on releasing the source code to Duke.

If I can be of any more help feel free to contact me

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Apogee Software - 3D Realms
http://www.3drealms.com

Bryan Turner Customer Support
bryant@3drealms.com

If you respond PLEASE quote this message in
your Reply.
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Go to http://www.apogee1.com/faq/ and select the "Apogee / 3D Realms
FAQ". This contains answers to virtually any question you may have about
us.
Just thought I'd put in my 2p's worth (I'm in England)

Duke3D was release on the Megadrive (Sega Genesis) and I bought it waaaaay back then. However, the pocket genesis emulator at www.pocketemulator.com works really well and so does the duke 3d rom , even on a casio e115 (not overclocked)

Whoa, I didn't know Duke existed on the Genesis. But of course the Genesis version sucks compared to the PC version, but because 3D realms won't release the source (as it seems now)this seems to be the only option to play DN3D on a PPC. :(

I didn't know this either! I'll give it a go. Like you said, I don't think it's any good. Maybe one of those h4><0r$ out there could crack it? That or wait a couple of years.

It works and runs fine but it is the original duke 3d, not the latter release with the naked bimbo's.

Sorry to disappoint.
