Go to and email them about a PocketQuake Mapping Only forum. If they don't know about PocketQuake give them the URL, they'll probably atleast post news about it and make this website more popular. You'd be doing all of us a favor if you did that instead of perpetually whining.

Are you talking about Chris? He has banners on PocketMatrix, from a sponsor, which make the website completely free, except for Chris's hosting debts of course. So why not donate some stuff to his paypal account. (Come on Chris, time for a shameless plug to your PayPal account!)

hahaha the PlanetQuake Quake 1 mapping forum olny has 37 posts total in 8 different threads, the entire quake 1 section has 375 posts in 110 threads. lets see... PocketQuake forum - 8198 posts.... :) but thats understandable because PocketQuake is still very new and has a large user group -- in 1996 I bet some quake forums were much busier than this.
Yeah, its a sad thing, because the game is really the best one of the series in my opinion; a classic and the only one I play. I think it would be great though if we could get PQ to host. I remember when this thread was actually about my map, maybe its time to kill this thread and start a new one.

Quake 2 was better. I couldn't get enough of that one Air Raid level that was turned into a CTF map, especially when grappling hook was turned on. I had more kills than a rabid rabbit on Easter.
I'm sorry but i beg the differ. I believe that Quake 3 Arena is the better game. I don't know i guess it's just the multiplayer relation.... Hey everyone is entitled to a different opinion.

Quake3 was never finished- id Software just ended up shipping the beta to distros. Many update patches are offered, though the most notable is the "Quake3 TEAM arena" patch (the only patch in the history of gaming that had to be purchased).

Currently, id IdSoftware is putting the finishing touches on Quake3, and has opted to call it Doom3 instead. ~

Uh huh... right...
*takes a minute to reflect*
Team Arena isn't a patch, and I can think of many other 'patches' of the same nature that had to be bought. At least it's a mod, but it does have an entirely different 3D engine, proceding and superceding Quake 3's in many very noticeable aspects.

but what's the argument? Which Quake was best? I'm sticking with my Q2 answer.

r u sure, i thought that Doom3 was the sequel to Doom 2 (as Ultimate doom is Doom only with a new episode and Final doom is un-official), and it is based on the Doom story line, the quake universe is totaly different and based a few hundered years earlier. i dont know about you, but althoguh wolfenstien and doom are sort of related in that doom is after 'return to castle wolfinstein', but quake III A doesnt fit in it.
