You take your quake a little too seriously 999 D
Like I said, I'm doing just fine and dandy playing lazily like I always have. Even on the PC version, I never used the mouse for anything, all I used was the keyboard.. and eventually a gravis digital gamepad.. and now the digital gamepad and buttons on the PPC. However, if they installed a analog control stick (not the stylus, you know what I mean) on the PPC, it Might be a different story, but I doubt it. I never used my analog gamepad for quake... never needed it.

Mike, thanks for taking the time to respond to this post.

I admit I went way overboard on those comments. There is obviously a market for all kinds of games, and the PPC gaming market is still young.

I know how a magazine/website works with advertising and newsworthy stuff. If it came down to nuts-and-bolts, I guess I WOULD rather see something new everyday on your site even if I don't necessarily deem it as newsworthy. At least I know I'd be getting the latest news when something important does come around.

I called games I don't prefer "trash". This couldn't be further from the truth and displays a simple lack of respect for the hard work and dedication that went into devolpment. I know a bit about programming games in C++, JavaScript, JAVA, ASM and VB- no matter what language it is difficult. Unfortunately I don't know a damn thing about programming for CE and GAPI but I can still appreciate the work it takes.

I truly apologize for any "inconsideracies" I have posted regarding JimmySoftware and PocketGamer (and anyone else I may have blindsided.)

Thanks for stopping by Mike, this thread just wouldn't be official without your input.

When I started this thread, I wasn't out to put Pocketgamer.org on trial, but actually pose the question, "Should PQ be rated in any such manner this early on?" Things just kinda snowballed from there, and went all over the place.

Pocketgamer.org has been a valuable asset to the community, and your work has always been appreciated.

Now Jaybot:

You're damned right I take my Quake serious ;) I was ranked in Quake 2 and 3 for some time, and had the honor of scrapping with Anna and Thresh back in the day. I don't like very many games truth be told, but the of the ones I like, I'm fanatical about ;)

I don't think I aggree with that.

999: Okay I understand. So you were'nt ranked in Quake 1...? But I know how you feel, ever played the Street Fighter II series (who hasn't?), well I was one of THOSE guys, the assholes at the arcade who would play for several hours on one quarter until everyone left me alone, so I could just beat the game (that's all I really wanted to do, honest).... but I never really like Mortal Kombat that much... so I understand.

Jaybot:

Please don't go there. Street Fighter is a colorful chapter in my life. It brings up many a memory that just chokes me up to think about.

...Okay, I give in...
My career was founded on the Street Fighter religion, and was the perverbial "foot in the door" to the industry I love. I've worked with some great publications since then, and have played a new Street Fighter (and Quake) with each passing year.

Times have sadly changed since then, the industry is in a horrible slump. Some are predicting another crash reminicient of the '84 crash when Atari was making more games than they had systems.

I'm currently doing work for , here's the last I designed for them a little over a month ago.

Sadly, that might be my last "hurrah" with the game industry. Prima was just bought by Random House, and I'm not certain I'm willing to sign any contracts.

Oy, back to the grind...
