What other PC games have been ported to Pocket PC?

P-dos is so expensive because no one buys it. No one buys it because it sucks and it could be better. The programmers can not be pros, because all they did was rip off XT-CE which came out before it, was the same program, sucked just as much, and went under. and 486 emulation would be extremely easy to do once 386 emu is up and running, and I've had win95 running on a 486 with 16 Megs of Ram before, it was slow, but that's not the point.

no i've got one serious question: what do u want run win95 on your PPC for? for writing test and use apps there's still WinCE on it (remember? the OS that came with the PPC) do u really think you can run games on a win95 emu? do u c how fast a rewritten game (pocketquake) runs? what do u think will happen when u try to run such a game on win95 emulated on 486 emulated on CE? OK if that works im really dumb, but as far as it doesnt i dont think this will be possible!

Let's count the layers:

Mips/ARM/SHx processor
Windows CE 3.0
80486 processor (emulated)
Windows 95
Application Software

That's quite a bit of processing.

I wonder if Transmeta is ever going to develop an embedded Crusoe with an x86 translation layer for use on handheld devices. Crusoes are fast, low power consumption, low temp, full x86 compatible beasts.

Even better, the Crusoe isn't restricted to x86. If designed with an alternative translation layer, the Crusoe "becomes" a different processor. So Mac happy people could have OSX on thier handheld (why? I don't know)

This is the only way I can see handhelds getting out of the x86 incompatibility issue.
You have to imagine that you cant compare a PC to a PPC! even if ME would run on a 286 (what i dont really believe) its not the same! but the only way to find out will be such an app that emulates it

<ugh!> that's not the point guys, I wasn't saying that I'd be happily running Windows 95 on my PPC, I was just saying that it was possible. Hence, you could, but you wouldn't. I just wanna rnu my old DOS games. But, I've gone over that already.

No one was putting you down, so I hope you weren't really that disgusted :) . In theory anything is possible, and I'd stick with the dream of running full compatibilty with my desktop machine.

I think it's pretty unanimous that we'd like full compatibilty with our favorite OS, whether it's Win32, DOS, Linux, or [shudder] OSX.

Which is why I am personally rooting for Transmeta Crusoe.

No, I wasn't that disgusted, it's just that people were asking "Why would you want to run Win 95? You can do this and that already in CE... besides it would be slow..." yeah I know, .....

Maybe I'd want to .. show it off?!

Anyway, I'm done ,I'm gonna go port the 386 myself now.... :)

Tell me when you're done with the 386 emulator, and send me the source... so I can release it before you and take all the credit.
