Oh... That is good news... :) By the way, how do I make my own custom skins? I don´t know very much about World Craft... I´m just starting with it and my port is still very ugly (ugly skins). Is it also possible to create ramps in WCraft?

Thanks,
Diego Cueva

I have played a couple different versions of DM-Archives for Unreal Tournament. Archives is a map from one of the 007 games. I'm sure it has been redone for other games as well.

So apparently SOMEBODY is okay with it.

Creating new textures for Quake is semi-difficult because of the limited pallete. All Quake textures use the same 8-bit palette, with means only 256 colors are available. 32 of those colors are "special" colors which remain fullbright (even in complete darkness) for effects like lights.

So that leaves you with a 224 color palette for most textures, unless you happen to be making a texture with lights.

It's much easier to create textures for 16, 24 or 32 bit color-depth. Unfortunately Quake doesn't support those depths.

Making ramps in Worldcraft is fairly easy. Select the BLOCK TOOL to create a new brush. On the right side of the screen you should see a couple drop down boxes- one of them says OBJECTS. Make sure the selected object type is WEDGE.

Drag a box in the xy, yz, or zx viewport and press ENTER.

You can also use VERTEX MANIPULATION on a BLOCK-type brush.
