Help!! PocketQuake! ahh

Help!! PocketQuake! ahh

Postby AnThRaX » Apr 16, 2001 @ 3:04am

Hello, I have a Casio E-125 with Windows CE 2.11
I read the instructions carefully, many, many times, but I still can't get pocketquake to work! I downloaded the newest version of gx.dll, and followed the instructions perfect. When I double click the quake executable file nothing happens. I've tried moving the exe to other places, in my quake/id1/ folder, everywhere. Still doesnt work... I have the quake/id1/ folder in my storage card if that makes a difference. But in the FAQ it said it's possible to do this, and I did it the exact way it was explained. Please help! thanks :)

The E-125 does not run CE 2.11. If you actually do have an E-125, then PQ will run on it. If you have a CE 2.11 device (E-105), then it will not. Please clarify what device you have.
Either way, you should get some sort of error message. What program / file explorer are you using to launch Pocket Quake? Some file explorers, like the simplistic one built into Giga Bar, does not show the system error message that occurs if there was a problem launching an app.

Dan East

I do have Casio E-105, thats what I meant sorry. I was looking at the E-125 while I was typing hehe :)
I was using Sticky Explorer to open up PocketQuake, and it didn't give me an error message. I just put it on my start menu right now and it gave me the following error message: "Can't find 'PocketQuake' (or one of its components) Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all the required libraries are available.

Thanks

THank you! A newbie that read the FAQ. Well, make sure .exe is in the \quake folder in the root directory of either your storage card or device. Make sure your .PAK or .pak.gz (NOT .pak.gz.zip) is in \quake\ID1. Make sure gx.dll is in the \Windows directory on your device. Without an error message, as Dan requested, I can't help much more.
-----------------
EDIT:

Forget what I wrote above.
Oh, I just saw your post. PocketQuake won't currently work on the E-105, as it doesn't have the WinCE 3.0 "PocketPC" OS. It is a PsPC, or Palm-sized PC.Last modification: Moose Master - 04/16/01 at 00:21:47
