Hey Guys Quake 1 with 60 fps

Hey Guys Quake 1 with 60 fps

Postby Gred » May 31, 2001 @ 9:54am

Yep, i experience no lag at all, i get 60 fps no matter what, and i am running in 1600x1200 resolution. Well i bet your wondering how i did this. I play it on my PC, and 800Mhz Tbird, 384 PC133 Ram and a 17 inch monitor. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I'd be worried if I were you, especially after blowing all that dough on a setup that can only push 60fps in a game that's over 5 years old.

Yah, some new gaming pc's can pull up to 97fps at 1600x1200 in Quake 3 at full quality. (See May's Maximum PC issue for more info)

I feel sorry for you, PC133 ram? DDR is the way to go. Here's a perfect pc IMO: (using available parts)

Dual Athlon 1.33ghz 266FSB
512 DDR Ram
19inch CRT
2 IBM Deskstar 60GB drives in RAID0
Pioneer slot-load DVD (16x)
Plextor 16x CD-R/RW w/ burn proof
GeForce 3 DDR
Sound Blaster Live Platinum!

That would satisfy most of my gaming needs :)
Last modification: Chris Edwards - 05/31/01 at 09:10:10

Hey Chris, you just named my system. Except the monitor is 21" and I use Quantum Hard drives, not IBM.

Ahem, Moose: No one gives a damn about what computer you have, or how much mommy and daddy spent on it. Nobody cares how spoiled you are, except for yourself. All you are doing is making people hurt, jealous, and mad at you. Learn to be conservative. And what the hell game are you playing that do you need that much power for?

I don't think Moose really has anything else to say, other than how depressed he is and how much money he's getting when he's 21 and how badass his system is. Life must be really rough...

I personally don't care.

There aren't a hell of alot of women visiting this board, so I can't image who the hell he is trying to impress.

notice the blatant lack of tildes and smiley faces.
Wow randall. I didn't know you cared enough to remember anything i say, but appearantly you do. I feel warm and fuzzy. And, uhm, Jaybot: I pay for my own stuff. I only act like an ashole when other people start. I'm sorry you think everything I say is me bragging, I can't help that. But whatever. I don't really care. I'm here to have fun conversations and make witty remarks, not help people.Last modification: Moose Master - 06/01/01 at 11:49:53

I posted this in another thread, but I'll expand upon it a little more.

Moose simply put is quite an asset here. Either you like, or dislike what he posts, but whatever the case, you can be guaranteed his post will warrant some type of reaction.

In a world riddled with longwinded posts, it's nice to come accross one that is quick to the punch, makes you think for a sec, or just outright pisses you off. It's a nice spice for any messageboard, and it's part of what keeps us coming back.

Moose and I butted heads when this site first opened, but like Chuck, his humor is an acquired taste, and only becomes evident after you've been here a while.

I personally get a kick out of reading Moose' posts, simply because it's a great way to look back and remember how I thought at his age.

School, girls, money, braggin', that pretty much surmizes everyone here at some point in time... So just take it for what it's worth.

Well, if you're not here to help people, I guess there really isn't much else for you to talk about.

I don't think your bragging... I think it's annoying. It would be cool if you BRAGGED about something else for once. All I ever see in Moose's posts are depressed, depression, money, lexus, 1.33 gHz Athlon, money, I'm depressed, money

Your story about the AK and deer was a welcome change of pace, even though I found it somewhat demented (who the hell shoots a deer with an AK-47?)

Well, atleast 999 now understands that I'm always joking around.
I find it really funny to piss people off. It's just so funny to see reactions.
So you liked my deer story? Hrmm... I'll think of some other great stories of my life during dinner tonight so you can all marvel at my brilliance.
Uhm. I'm not depressed that much. And I mentioned that I got a new computer once, chuck said something about me being a rich bastard, so I posted about that again and again. Reactions are so great, especially from you people.
TTYL

Hi,

There's really no version of Quake that can go 60fps that weighs only half a pound and can be carried around in a pocket like a Gameboy.

Of course, that doesn't stop me from playing games on a proper gigahertz-league Athlon system (with an amount of RAM that makes yesterday's hard disk shiver in fear) like the one you and I have at home. :)

well actually, I wouldn't want Althons anyway they run to hot and are hard to overclock. I'd want dual p4 1.7's upped to prolly 2ghz each, that'd be system of god. And i saw some guy gettin 320 fps on Q3 omg it was nice.
