Hi guys, id just like to comment on how good your site is and how good it looks on my hp jornada 520. So i bought by pocket pc about 4 days ago, bought a 64mb exp pack 2 days ago, now i wanna play games. And so i naturally came here to pick up a sh3 version of pocket quake. To my surprise it really didnt need a lot of brain work to make it work. Read the instructions is my advice. However :- heres my problem.<br><br>I get this white screen, with a little 2 pixel line down the side...i get this where the actual game should be, i get the little lower window with all the menu buttons etc....<br><br>Okay so i thought i should use my brains before i started....i turned the volume right up...WOOHOO i can hear people getting murdered with what sounds like pipe bombs... So the game works...just the screen is messed up.<br><br>Here are my specs.<br><br>15mb on board, with 10 free, i split it 8.9 to programs and the rest on storage. i have 20mb free with quake installed on my storage card, im using the .pak file not the .gz file. ive installed the game into storage/quake/id1 and ive got the gx.dll in the /windows folder.<br><br>I hope that clarifys my system. Ive got a feeling its screen not fitting on to my screen properly and its getting squashed up into the corner, or off the window edge. Please help!

I have a feeling that your HP Jornada 520 (520, never heard of that one, maybe 525?) only uses 4bit or 8bit color and I'm not sure if Quake currently supports that. I know the 12bit iPaq and the 16bit Casio works, along with the other Jornadas (Atleast 54x). But as I have a Casio and as I don't program PocketQuake I'm not really too sure.<br>But it's definitely a program bug, nothing you did or can do.

thanx, at least i know i gotta get a new one now hehe. May be i should go read the specs and see if there is someting i can do about the colors. btw its  jornada 525...sorry about that, it says 520 series on the back..

Ya, that's the one with the least amount of colors. If you could tell us exactly how many colors it says it uses, then that 'ould be greeeaaat. Errmm, yaaa. Should be 256 or something like that.

moose man,  (no pun intended) I have no clue of how to find out how many colors there are on my damn pda. I looked in the instructions...the box! and the damn website...and they all have jack written on em! damn this crap.

hmm, i was just thinking....a rare thing for me. heh..Can i run this grayscale pocket quake? obvously even with a 64mb card, i dont have much left for 2 installations of quake, so id like to find out from you guys first. When you say grayscale do you mean 4bit?

The greyscale Quake is build to run on the Ipaq H3136, so that won't work... let me see if I can find something that will help you out with the color thing.<br>*2 minutes later*<br>Yes, download GAPI Properties from and type the entire screen output in this thread so someone can use it to help make a port for the HP Jornada 525. I had heard that someone already did or was trying, but I don't know about it.
