A moment of silence

A moment of silence

Postby R0B » Sep 11, 2001 @ 4:22pm

I would like everyone on this message board to take a moment of silence in repect to all of those who were killed in the massive terrorist attack/act of war. In schools across America, students watched 3 of the most important buildings in America either sevearly damaged or completely dimolished. From the 720 PQ developer, our hearts go out to them.

And they were demolished by a faceless coward, trying to take as many innocent lives with him/her as possible. But let's just be thankful for the good that did happen:
The trade center did not destroy every surrounding building, and the people in them were evacuated before it fell.
The fourth plane was somehow halted before it reached it's target.
All government officials are safe, and the economy will not be hurt as much as suspected.

Don't be so sure. I pray that this will not become more devastating than it already is, but the report that I just heard was that one of the neighboring buildings is catching fire. I just wish I could turn back time, and warn someone.

But how long does it burn for, I would think that it would have been burned up by now.

A long time. It's practically napalm when it's set on fire. But just think. It will take months for them to clean it up. There are body parts on the streets and roofs of nearby buildings! People jumped out of the 30th+ floor trying to escape the hellish inferno. And the poor people in the airplane, you know the terrorists boastfully told the passengers about their fate. Why they did nothing is beside me, however. (sound of music in background begins... *Swing low, sweet chariot*) I'd much rather go out trying to save my country by stabbing a terrorist with a pen then sitting by on an airplane as it piles into the world trade center.
...
And the people in LA, waiting at the airport for their families to step off the plane. Thirty minutes goes by, an hour... then suddenly, one of the terminal monitors changes to NBC-2... :(

First off they recieved cell phone calls from passengers on all the planes involved, but it was too late to react, and in most cases the passengers did resist. Unfortunatly the passegers who tried to resist were stabbed with box cutters and killed. Also saying they should "overtake" the plane is easier said then done. As far as the building being cleared before they collapsed there is no way that was possible. About 10,000 to 20,000 were still in the building when it went down including rescue personel.

I am glad some radio stations are starting to play some music. Sure, I shouldn't forget about what happened. But I seriously doubt I will and I certainly don't need reminding. But something uplifting in my ears rather than depressing will help the spirits a little.
