I can't get quake to run on my ipaq 3635. I have followed all of the instructions and when I press the quake icon to run it says I need the api gx.dll. Help!!! I have been to microsoft's site and can't find it there.

You spoiled IPAQ owner. I had to wait for an outside developer to make one that works for my device, and it isn't even free. Then I had to convert it so it would work with C. Ha, I laugh at your foolishness. But seriously, I think that it is included in the PocketQuake.zip file. Make sure you copy it to the "/Windows" directory, NOT THE QUAKE directory. That should help. Hey, has anyone ever thought about making an instalation program for PQ? One that would put everything in the correct directories. Just a thought.

Also cand is really spelled can't. And if you want to be technical, contractions are considered to be a form of slang in technical english documents, so cannot would be the best word choice.

Make sure you're using Pocket Quake as downloaded from this website. It will contain the needed gx.dll file, which you need to copy into the \windows\ directory of your iPaq.

Dan East

I'm also having a similar problem with my ipaq 3635. I have the gx.dll file in the Windows directory and all other files as the instructions state, but I keep getting: Unable to initialize Game api. You need to place gx.dll file in the \windows\directory of this device. I've used the gx.dll both from this site and Microsoft's. They're both version 1.2 for Arm. Am I missing something? Please help. Thank you.
