Though the standard quake maps just *suck* on a MIPS device, the optimized ones work fine in portrait, and even okay in lanscape.

On my e-125, the optimized map I made works just fine. You can find it in . I'd check the FPS, but I don't have PQ installed right now. On my map I'd guess over 10 or 15 fps in portrait, and around 10 in landscape, but those might be pretty far off from the actual values. But it is playable.

If you have the money, buy a ARM ppc. If you can get an em-500 or e-125 real cheap, that might be okay, but I don't think developers will support MIPS much longer. Oh well, at least we've got PQ, Argentum, Snails, PocketDIVX, and PocketScumm... :)
