Quake error that I haven't heard of yet

Quake error that I haven't heard of yet

Postby eminefes » Jun 24, 2002 @ 8:33am

I'm trying to run Quake on my e310 (installed on main memory) and everytime I try to start a new game I get this error:

Mod_LoadBrushModel:
maps/start.bsp has wrong
version number (0 should be 29)

I downloaded the files from PM and I installed everything properly. Can someone help me?

Oh, well I tried downloading the PAK file multiple times and I even gzipped my own pak file from the shareware version of Quake...but I'll try it again.

Ok, now I put it on a storage card and it ran just fine after I reset. The loading speed is quite slow of course, but not nearly as bad as it was on my EM-500 (it took 15-20 minutes to get into the game on my EM-500). But I'd still like to know just why the files would corrupt after reseting my e310. That's a little strange. However, I'm soooo glad I can finally see PQ running on my PPC at a playable speed. It totally r0x0rs!

Try defraggin' your storage card...

weird, never heard of that one before. If you want some maps to play for PQ, ones that actually give you a playable speed, go to:
