Any chance that PocketQuake will run on an iPAQ h1910?

Any chance that PocketQuake will run on an iPAQ h1910?

I am looking into getting my first pocketPC. I can get a good deal on an iPAQ h3835(206mhz) but the screen is really dull and the colors are washed out.

I have also been looking at the tiny new iPAQ h1910 the screen is very bright and the colors are super sharp, however it runs on a 200MHz Intel® PXA 250 processor. I am worried that it wont have the horsepower to play Quake. Does anyone know for sure?

You are very correct. Check the "sticky" benchmark thread, it lists the h1910's fps as under 6 on average. The H3835 gets around 9 I believe.

I would not recommend either of those devices to anyone, however. I'd recommend the Dell PocketPC for you. It's very cheap and pretty powerful.

Thank you for the info. Since I work at CompUSA I am limited to the PocketPCs that the store carries. That means no Dell (The specs look great though).

I am still considering the h1910 based on the discount I get on the unit, the replacment plan, and the SD card. I am not buying it just for games (although it would be sweet if I could play Quake on the go).

I agree, if you can get the same, or near the same discounts that you can get on Compaq devices, the Genio would be the best bet.

Unfourantly, it looks like he may not have much of a choice.

Two cupcakes were in an oven. One turned to the other and said "Damn, it sure is hot in here" and the other one said "HOLY SHIT! A TALKING CUPCAKE!"

Malebolgia breathes undead life into the charred corpse of all of those who don't understand. I now mutate into a demonic alter-ego of his own.
