Shape, it just sounds like you need to talk to your teacher (before or after class) about your Pocket PC and why you want to use it during class. Anytime you discuss something like that in front of the whole class with the teacher it becomes a confrontation of sorts. The teacher has to assert their authority in front of the others, and is not likely to concede the point in that setting. You will accomplish much more discussing it one-on-one, where no-one else has to witness the teacher bowing to your will. If the teacher still does not agree, then discuss it with the principal, etc. As far as the legal issue, I doubt that any modern country's laws would prevent a teacher from temporarily confiscating any item the student has brought to class to prevent [what they believe to be] a disruption. Obviously a student should not be able to bring anything they want to class and use it, be it a chainsaw, gameboy, portable DVD player, etc. Until you prove otherwise, your Pocket PC automatically falls into the same category of those items.
