Yep, it's pretty good fun to play 2 player games. I've got all the mame 0.60 roms on there from www.tombstones.org.uk (think that's the url).

Making it was also fun, I used a keyboard hack and a single sheet of 8x4 mdf. Joysticks and buttons are from happcontrols.com

By the way, sorry for the multiple posts, my work firewall blocks the post confirmation page.

Ya, that's the right website. But don't post illegal or shady stuff on this forum. That's kind of a no no.

I hope I can get my AMD 1.3GHz built into an arcade cabinet. I've got an old Galaga cabinet, but I want to make one from scratch, and my monitor won't fit into Galaga's cabinet. I can't use it's monitor either because it's got the PacMan maze burned into it.

What input method are you going to go with? Hangstrom, Keyboard Hack, Joypad Hack, IPAC?

I hear very good things about the IPAC but I didn't want to spend the extra money, and hacking a keyboard was a lot more challenging.

If your cocktail cab has been jamma converted, then you could use a JPAC.

I was going to go with the traditional cocktail cab design (ie facing), but decided that side-by-side would mean a much larger selection of 2 player games.

Have you visited www.arcadecontrols.org?

I've been looking at . I don't have the time to build my own joystick, but I would like to add a trackball or find a good joystick with a trackball. I just wanted to turn my computer into an arcade upright quickly and quietly.
I just wanted to build the cabinet myself, probably out of marine particle board, hook up my water cooling system to my computer and stick it all in the cabinet with my monitor. I'd then connect it to my LAN/WAN cable internet and have SETI@Home and UD Cancer Research running all the time so it would be a little workhorse when I'm not playing on it.

How well did ordering the games from a tombstone member go? From whom did you order?

And yes, I have seen that website.

I wish I could just buy Hanaho's Deluxe ArcadePC but just the cabinet. I don't need the computer or monitor inside of it. Do you know if they do that? And what exactly are those Jamma cases?

I was extremely pleased with the Tombstones service. The member I used was Han. Had all 7 cds to me (roms plus artwork) in less than 1 week.

Now, this isn't going to be much use, but if you post on arcadecontrols forum, you should get some joy from them. I remember seeing a website which sold arcade controls and a computer all in one unit. There were prices both with and without the computer components.

Jamma is the arcade machine standard, it allows different PCBs to be swapped in and out of machines. Or, in your case, the PCB would be the computer connected to a JPAC.

Expect many trips to homedepot...

That looks like it would hurt your neck after playing for long hours.

nah, it's not too bad with the right sized stools. the monitor is slightly angled and set back in the viewhole.
