Acura RSX

Acura RSX

Postby James S » Feb 2, 2002 @ 2:49am

Hey, I'm in a pleasant mood right now. I've been reading a lot about the Acura RSX lately, my friend told me about them, and I've really been taken with them.
But to the point, my mom just walked in the door and I walk up to her with a pamphlet from the Acura dealership with a nice picture of the RSX in it and tell her, "hey mom, I need one of these for college."
She says, "sure, let's go see them at the dealership."
I, of course, being the smart ass that I am said, "no, not right now ... Let's go in the morning!" :D
To make a long story short. I may get a car with the nicest butt that I've seen in a long time (as my friend so aptly puts it). Those RSXes are just NICE. Their butt reminds me of the Ferrari 550 Maranello's and damn are those nice cars.

I just wish they had the picture that's in the pamphlet online, it kicks ass.

Okay, now i just have to choose between the colors. I could get Satin Silver Metallic which makes it look like a kick ass racer with style and class (what's in the pamphlet) with the regular chrome lettering, or...
Red like in the picture and gold lettering and gold platted exhaust pipe, which would look so damn hot. Then I'd just need to get some nice gold wheels and black tinting and my rig would basically come pimped out.
But I kind of like class and style, I really don't want to pimp it out at all, except some shinier wheels perhaps, when I get an extra 3k.
What do you all think. Red with gold plated lettering and exhaust pipe. or classic silver... I'll have to ask my friend, her tastes are almost identical to mine, but sometimes stronger.

Man, this car is like mad cool. It just looks like a Lister Storm 93's front stuck on a Ferrari 550's rear. Damn, it looks as good as ... as ... a Lister Storm and Ferrari mixed!

Go with the silver. That way you can go faster without getting pulled over. Plus, silver just looks awsume.

Ya... that's what I'm leaning towards. Red is for people that want to impress others or feel impressive themselves. Silver is for those with confidence and refinement. That's me, silver. ... "Plus, silver just looks awsume" :)

EXACTLY! I hate those ugly spoilers people are getting. they *har har* spoil the look of the car. GET IT? HA! But I AM Mr. Style in real life, so I'll probably go with silver.

You want to make a statement... School Bus Yellow!!

Hey, nobody has that anymore, you would be the only one arround. Everyone would see it and say, hey i know the guy.. he's cool because his car is different. the girls would be turned on by its originality and would throw themselves on you.

Well, thats my thought

Uh huh...
well anyway. I was originally going to get an SLK 230, but I've decided to wait until I can get the SLK AMG 32, which is nearly 80% more than the 230, but much more powerful and has a much nicer, but only subtly different, body styling. Either that or the CLK :)
But this RSX gets 31 MPG! And it's got the manual automatic shifting that I so love. Snapping that shifter into the special gate then punching it down, lowering the gear, and feeling the car grip the road, the RPM's soar, and the engine howls as I accelerating around cars on every bend turns me and my female friend on. That's just so hot. Like a scene out of Gone in 60 Seconds every time you pass a car. *drools, falls to knees*

My brother has a 3.2TL, quite nice. This is how I've gotten all this Acura experience. Plus I go to dealerships and "test drive" the cars for a little bit. But you know, the salesmen at the BMW dealer won't even talk to you unless you've got a polo golf shirt on with khaki shorts and doc martin sandles. It's weird, but you HAVE to wear THOSE cloths to buy a BMW. *drools over M3*

It should have Moose, been in 999's thread. Anyway, here's my opinion. I don't like Acura at all, it's a division of Honda that's not even as good as Honda. My aunt has an Acura, and it's transmission fell out. If you like the RSX style, I'd go with the Subaru WRX or Mitsubishi Lancer RE, the Lancer is also cheaper than the Acura.

Ya, I know Acura's transmittions are bad, but I think they've fixed them in recent years.

I gotta say moose, I would shy away from the Acura and go with a rex (WRX). You could wait till next year too, because the real Lancer is supposed to actually get imported.

I drove the RSX (s-type, which is the only one worth even looking at) and I was none too impressed. The stick is a shorty, and supposedly is the model used in the S2000, but that is the only thing cool about it I saw.

They are pricey, the doors feel like paper mache when you close them, it is REALLY FRICKIN SMALL inside, and it feels cheap. It handles ok, but it is only front whell dr, and the rex is all wheel.

For your dough it is best to shop around.
