X800 XT

Meh, I'll just get an ATI manufactured X800 XT for $250 through connections.

My advice would be to look for the card with the best price and bundle combination, and the features you want. (things like ViVo etc)

Don't forget that most of these cards are just reference boards, and therfore are exactly the same from one resellar to the next in all but bundle and price.

Some may use slightly cheaper memory (but this is unlikely on the XT models), and others may have a better or quiteter cooling solution than another, but don't forget that there's very little headroom for overclocking these cards anyway. (10% is about as good as you'll get)

As far as im aware, not all Pro's will soft-mod to XT's. If they wont, then your stuck with a 12 pixel pipeline card. Also, it may be they were sending out re-branded XT's while there was a shortage or delay with the Pro's, so don't just assume it will soft-mod.

It's a very simelar story to the 9800SE->Pro mod. Some will, some wont.
