I agree that more than 10 yr olds play Nintendo. I think the real question is "Should they?"

I happen to know a couple of Nintendo fanboys - my brother and my nephew for one. They're all the same, really. Just recently I came to blows with my brother (or rather, he punched me) when he didn't like my argument. Went something like this:

Brother: PSP will cost 400 euros
Me: Wrong; No price has been announced, but all stores have a release price of 199 euros, and they're the ones who talk to the distributer. Let's assume they're off by a 100 - that's still not 400 euros.
Brother: Yeah, but the stores and Sony aren't objective.
Me: The fuck you mean...?
Brother: ... they want to sell right?
Me: ... So I should just believe the fanboys from the other side over the people who make and sell the thing? They don't know at what price they will sell the stuff that they make? That's not quite the way things work. Your argument is flawed.
Brother: *tries to punch me and recieves a good kicking in return*

See my point? Some of these people are intense. They try to bash Sony without a single shred of evidence. Fuck them.

Organic Superlube? Oh, it's great stuff, great stuff. You really have to keep an eye on it, though--it'll try and slide away from you the first chance it gets.

The DS just doesn't appeal to me. Mario, Zelda, etc. may be nice games, but I'm just not interested in them. I want Gran Turismo, Metal Gear, Grand Theft Auto, those games.. To me, that means I have to buy a PSP. Simple as that. If DS has games I want, I will buy one. That's why I still don't have a Cube, despite it being cheaper then a gameboy - the games just don't appeal to me and many people like me. PSP is holding a better hand.

And yeah, the DS is one ugly machine. My nephew bought one two weeks ago, and it's big, plasticky, and it just feels cheap. It might be good, but it's not the nicest looking piece of kit I've seen.

Sony and Nintendo can be compared to Microsoft and Apple (no really, hear me out here :)).

Apple starts something that's amazing, great, awesome, kickass, but does not sell (or not very well), like their PDA, or Lisa for that matter. Microsoft sees the potential in Apple's product, and copies it, makes it better, and releases it, with major success (thus the Desktop PC was born! *powerpuff girls story teller voice*).

Similar with Nintendo, they make something great (The gameboy [let's keep it at the portable side for now]), Sony sees it's potential, and copies it, makes it better, and releases it (thus the...err...well you get it by now ;)).

Neither of the devices are bad, suck, or anything like that. They both are great in it's own way.

I have owned a PSP, played with it, loved it. It's just an amazing piece of work (both technically as it's appearance). I've seen (and touched, get it? :)) the DS at a local store (plugged/taped/strapped tight to a holder of course), and while I first thought it was too bulky, it actually is quite nice to hold. (Though that crappy game displayed really blows)

It's all just a matter of taste, nothing more. This will be one of those endless battles like Palm VS PPC, you can't do anything about that. I just wanted to share my opinion here ;).

Hey Bjorn, does Mario64 really looks nice on the screen(s)? I saw the movies but not on the device itself :).

Nintendo's primary audience is children. That is primarily why Nintendo's product is uninteresting to anyone over the age of 13.

Well if they release a real and good Zelda game, I'm all over it :). But for the rest, I think I'll stick to Metal Gear solid and stuff :).

I like Nintendo and Sony.. even Microsoft on occasion.

Ikaruga, Pikmin, and Zelda were reason enough to justify the Gamecube.

FFX was reason enough for the PS2 (yeah, there was a few others like MGS2-3 and Magic Pengel, I guess).

KOTOR, DOAXB, and a few other long acronyms were enough for the XBOX (the PC version just isn't as good, seriously).

GBA was worth it for Sword of Mana and Minish Cap.

PS1 was for a bunch of stuff. But I still had a N64 for Mario and um... Zelda.

The SNES vs. Genesis fanboys were much worse than any recent fanboys of today... but, do I need to go back that far?

Atari was better than Colecovision though, hands down.

It's all about the games, really.
