Global Warming ...

Organic Superlube? Oh, it's great stuff, great stuff. You really have to keep an eye on it, though--it'll try and slide away from you the first chance it gets.

Why can't everybody just see it as a "don't piss in the well" situation. Driving around in huge cars pumping all sorts of shit into the air with reckless abandon is all well and good, but even if you decide the the main "global warming" factor is garbage, the concomitant factors (more smog, more pollutants in the atmosphere, etc) really should still make people think about what they're doing.

Cutting down on energy use, pollution, etc, is a good thing.

Refractor has just made the end all of points. Why drive cars that are needlessly large and other easily addressable energy wastes. It's all well and good to say that there is no global warming, but could we at least not fuck up the environment just for spite?

At current rates the ozone will be completely healed by 2052. That's not too bad. And until then, what's the problem? Now we can swim in November if we want, why the bad news?

I find it interesting that you assume I do not advocate environmental consciousness. People seem to equate unwillinginess to accept man-made global warming and resistance to environmental reforms. I suppose this makes sense, but the two are not necessarily indicative of each other.

Though I don't buy global warming wholesale, I fully agree with you; there's no reason NOT to pursue alternative energy sources, gas mileage minimums, and stricter all-around environmental regulations for pollution, production, and disposal. In fact, there are many good, non-environmental reasons for decreasing our energy dependence on unstable regions like the Middle East, Venezuela, and Russia.

The point is that you don't have to believe in global warming to advocate respect for the environment. Unfortunately, humankind is remarkably poor at planning for the future, and thus a global warming scare -- legitimate or not -- is probably necessary to spur the populous to action. Sadly, we're unable to prepare for anything unless there's an imminent danger, and sometimes even then we prove incapable of decent planning -- just look at the levees in New Orleans.
The fates lead him who will;
Him who won't, they drag.

Honda is definitely making the Hybrid and Natural Gas vehicles profitable. The Accord Hybrid is the most luxury vehicle they produce.
