Crosswind technique: "Using your peripheral vision, react to body movements, gasps, groans, and shouts from the other side of the cockpit, and always remember that it's better to be lucky than good."

Organic Superlube? Oh, it's great stuff, great stuff. You really have to keep an eye on it, though--it'll try and slide away from you the first chance it gets.

These new macbook laptops come with a big warning in the safety info/manual that advises users not to put the laptop on their lap because the computer gets so warm as to cause burns.

Dude, it's america. If you don't cover your ass in every way possible, somebody probably will sue them for some stupid thing they did with the device.

Remember the cat in the microwave? Yeah, something like that :).

Nah dude, laptops are too fucking hot these days. I still have an old Thinkpad with like a 333Mhz running Win95, and aside from the battery being dead, it runs just fine while plugged in, and never gets/got hot in my lap, always ran cool, and there wasn't even an audible fan.

Compared to todays laptops, where I'd have to buy a frigging cooling accessory just to keep the damn thing from burning my legs (no, seriously, they do, especially my powerbook) and makes me break out into a sweat after using them for 2 minutes (plus the ridiculously loud fans that aren't constantly blowing air out the sides)... they've just gotten a little out of hand with how fast/hot they can make the damn things.

My next notebook will be whoever wins the coolest and quietest award. Start clocking these fuckers down or something. I don't need uber fast when I'm using a laptop, I need comfortability.

Would have thought any of the Pentium M's would work fine. My thinkpad has a 1.3GHz Pentium M and it can handle HL2 at 1024x768 without a hiccup. And it runs quietly and cool. Currently running at max speed with full screen brightness and it's drawing a misery 16W of power. ;-)

Well I do have to agree with you, even my X51v feels pretty warm/hot after watching a video on it for 20 minutes or so. There are a bunch of fan-less tablets out there, but I have no idea how warm they actually get after extended periods of usage.

Yeah, the X51v adds a whole new meaning to playing "hot potato" with a friend.

All Motion Tablets are currently fanless designs. My M1300 is very nice, totally quiet, and stays cool enough as to still be comfortable (but if the room is cold it's a nice hand warmer). It gets warm enough to feel, but not warm enough to be noticeable. However, if it's been docked and running on A/C power and then I wip it out and start using it as a Tablet it can be uncomfortably warm, but that's because I have UD Cancer Research churning numbers constantly when it's on A/C power.

I like my Tablet. It's 900MHz Centrino, by the way.

I believe Motion makes the only fanless tablets. I also believe that most of the new UMPCs are fanless, but I could be wrong. They're all desktop replacements if you try to make them be. You'd need the docking station and an external monitor, of course. But they're fast enough. Faster than my 3 year old TabletPC.
